Positron gives The Louisa County Sheriff's Office, Iowa
The Power to Respond™
Denver, Colorado, January 26, 2005

The Louisa County, IA Sheriff's Office, which turned up enhanced 9-1-1 in 1993, serves about 13,000 residents in a 418 square mile area. Since going live, the center has had the need for relatively few upgrades. In its time, Positron's equipment has satisfied all the PSAP's requirement.

In 2004, Communications Supervisor Sherry Crooks decided that it was time to make a change. 2004 saw fully 40% of calls come from wireless phones, an increase of almost 20% on the year before. And with the addition of digital mapping for Phase II, desk space was becoming a concern. To address all these issues, Positron stepped up to the plate with Simon.

The Sheriff's Office went live with Positron's Simon with Norstar interface in December, 2004. Simon is an all-inclusive computer telephony integrated (CTI) console providing complete call handling at your fingertips. Remarkably easy to use, Simon's touch screen command of all call handling operations in a small form factor design improves call-taker efficiency and saves space on the desktop.

"Simon is awesome," Miss Crooks said. "It is so user friendly. I wish all our equipment was Positron." She pointed to the small form factor and standard operating procedures as her favorite parts of the system.

Simon She went on to say that "Positron has worked extremely hard and delivered a system that meets our needs exactly. And because of their hard work, we have had a really easy learning curve."

When asked about customer support she said that "we have had very few problems but the problems we had were addressed and fixed right away. I have no complaints at all."

Positron is very happy to welcome the Louisa County Sheriff's Office to the family.
