Mercom and Positron Partner to Offer Public Safety Recording Solution for
9-1-1 Centers Power LVR provides passive voice activated recording
Montreal, Quebec, May 9, 2005

Positron Public Safety Systems and Mercom Systems, Inc. announced today that they have teamed up to offer a multi-media recording solution to meet the needs of public safety agencies of any size. Power LVR integrates Mercom’s Audiolog call recording server into the Positron platform and is available immediately.

“We’re committed to establishing ourselves as the premier manufacturer of public safety recording solutions, and this product represents the close partnership of two major players in the Public Safety market,” said Avi Margolin, president and CEO of Mercom. “As the largest provider of 9-1-1 systems in North America, Positron is the perfect vendor to provide integrated recording solutions to the PSAP community and by working with Mercom, they’ve enlisted the technology of the premier recording vendor in the country.” PowerLVR

No other offering allows for recording equipment to be integrated directly with Positron’s
9-1-1 equipment. Power LVR is a centralized workstation-recording unit that provides passive voice activated recording of 9-1-1 trunks and administrative lines, workstations, and radio. Recordings are stored within Power LVR as wave files, and tagged with time stamp, answering position, and trunk information so users can easily search for and play back calls.

Through the integration with Positron’s Power MIS management information system, users have more flexibility than ever to retrieve call information and recording data.  Through this unique interface, users can search for calls based on defined criteria and obtain all data associated to the call including the recorded call itself

“Our customers recognize that in the mission-critical environment of E9-1-1 call-handling operations, the Positron/Mercom combination meets and exceeds their needs for reliable call-recording,” said Paul G. Guest, Director of Marketing for Positron.  “Couple that with the full integration provided with Power MIS, and our customers enjoy the most robust and user-friendly solution available today.” Mercom’s call recording technology is currently installed in more than 2,000 public safety agencies around the world.
