Positron Announces Power CAD Deployment

Positron Public Safety Systems is pleased to welcome the West I-10 Fire Department to our Power CAD user family. Power CAD is a computer aided dispatch system that enables emergency personnel to manage response resources efficiently and effectively.

Following an extensive two-year selection process, the consensus was to go with Power CAD. "Our decision to go with Positron for our new CAD system was based on their [PPSS] outstanding track record, 24/365 support, and user configurability which allows the CAD to be built around our agency "not the agency around the CAD," stated Kristy Marshall, Communications Director.

The West I-10 Fire Department is a combination paid and volunteer department located in Katy Texas, a suburb just west of Houston. They provide fire and emergency medical services to a population of approximately 100,000 people. Operating four stations covering eighty square miles, last year alone, the agency dispatched approximately 5000 emergency calls for service.

The Positron team worked with the Department's three administrators to configure Power CAD with West I-10's intricate recommendations. They also provided comprehensive training for twenty-four fulltime and part time dispatchers on the ease and functionality of Power CAD. A part of their solution includes the National Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatching Pro QA, which is fully integrated with Power CAD. Furthermore, West I-10 FD will be able to expand their solution by adding additional members of the Positron IWS family of fully integrated E9-1-1 and emergency dispatching solutions.
