OPCD Goes Live with Controller-Based Nortel Networks' Symposium Call Center Server (SCCS)
Atlanta, Georgia, April 21, 2003
On April 9th the Orleans Parish Communications District entered a new era of 9-1-1 service. OPCD was the first center in the nation to deploy Positron's Life Line 100 E9-1-1 controller, Nortel Networks' Meridian-1 Symposium Call Center Server (SCCS) and Positron's Power 911 Intelligent Workstations.
Only Positron's controller-based integration with Nortel Networks' SCCS offers several advantages over approaches taken by other companies, including a higher level of reliability, functionality and performance. SCCS represents the next generation ACD software from Nortel Networks, and was easily supported by Positron. Positron is a member of the Nortel Networks Developer Program.
The Orleans Parish Communications District selected to purchase its new 9-1-1 system and support direct from Positron. From all reports the cut to service went smoothly. This achievement gives the Orleans Parish Communications District the Power to Respond™ in providing the citizens and visitors of New Orleans with the best-in-class 9-1-1 service possible.
With US headquarters in Atlanta, GA, Positron Public Safety Systems is the only true Native Applications Vendor that covers emergency response from start to finish. Positron's End-to-End suite of applications span the entire workflow of an emergency response organization, from call handling via Power 911 IWS, geographic location display via Power MAP, Dispatching via Power CAD, Power MOBILE and Power RADIO, through to reporting on system personnel and system performance using Power MIS, and downstream records management via Power RMS.
