Positron gives the City of Arcadia Police Department
The Power to Respond™
Sacramento, California, December 1, 2003
The City of Arcadia is a residential community located in the San Gabriel Valley, about 18 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles. In 2002, the Arcadia Police Department responded to 47,123 calls for service.
Arcadia PD cut over this August to an integrated Positron system installed and maintained by SBC Communications. Each of three workstations provides calltakers with on-screen control of emergency call handling and radio communications.
"From the very start, we have experienced no problems." says Rick Sandona, Administration Captain. "The Power 911 network has ensured the safety of our public and our officers as it has delivered the key component of our communications network. It's a pleasure to report that the equipment has worked without any flaws from the very beginning. A true testament to the engineering that has gone into this equipment. It is one of the many elements of our new facility that goes unnoticed as it works so well".
Positron's Power 911 provides on-screen control of 9-1-1 and administrative call handling, along with a rich set of integrated features such as TTY and call recording. Power RADIO runs on the same workstation as Power 911, and provides agents with on-screen access to radio communications. Both applications, as with all members of Positron's End-to-End suite of Public Safety applications, were designed from the ground up to work together seamlessly on the same workstation, an approach that provides Arcadia PD with assured compatibility both today and in the future as the 9-1-1 and Radio systems evolve.
Positron is proud to welcome Arcadia Police Department to the family.
