Positron gives Las Cruces, New Mexico The Power to Respond™
Denver, Colorado, March 19, 2004
Las Cruces, New Mexico. The Rio Grande River winds its way by the city to the west and the Organ Mountains rise out of the desert to the east. Located in Southern New Mexico, Las Cruces is the fastest growing city in New Mexico and the 11th fastest in the nation. 110,000 people call this area home.
Las Cruces' call volume has been growing steadily over the past few years with a similar increase in their number of wireless calls. Currently a Secondary PSAP receiving wireless calls by transfer only, they are getting ready to go Phase I and start receiving all wireless calls as a primary answering point later this year. After carefully evaluating their needs, Las Cruces selected Positron.
Las Cruces installed Positron's Power 911 intelligent workstation for E9-1-1 operations supported by a fully digital telephony platform that includes Nortel Networks' Norstar PBX and Positron's Life Line 100 E9-1-1 controller. By adding Power MAP onto a second screen, Las Cruces enjoys the richest integrated mapping solution for landline and wireless callers. Power MIS provides in-depth reporting and analysis capability.
"Selecting and installing Positron's equipment definitely has been a positive experience," according to Mike De Fausell, Communications Supervisor with the New Mexico State Police at Las Cruces. "The install went smoothly. There were no problems." Mr. De Fausell even went so far as to say that he "had a great time" doing it.
Speaking of Positron's customer support, Mr. De Fausell said "any time we did need support, Positron has been right there to help us out. Tech support has been outstanding."
Positron is happy to welcome the New Mexico State Police at Las Cruces to the family.
