RWCECC's call volume has been increasing steadily in the last few years. As with most PSAPs, the lion's share comes from increases in wireless call volume; up almost 30% in 2003 alone. They have been adding call takers steadily through the years to respond to these calls for help.

To meet the demand from the increasing call volume from wireless callers, Philip Penny, Communications Director, chose Positron's Power 911 and Power MAP to bring full Phase II Wireless E911 call handling to his 22-position PSAP. Operational for over twelve months, the deployment has been an unqualified success.

Power MAP is a dedicated public safety map viewer providing unique automatic display and management of landline, Phase I and Phase II calls, providing enhanced support of Wireless E911 calls.

"Positron brought us onto the leading edge when we went Phase II," Mr. Penny said, "Positron just makes our job easier." He went on to say, "Positron is a vendor that is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that the customer's goals are met. Their 'Can-Do' attitude means that no matter what we ask, Positron comes up with the solution to meet everyone's needs."

Positron is proud to have the Raleigh-Wake County Emergency Communications Center in our family.
