The 9-1-1 center's wireless call volume has been growing by leaps and bounds recently. The PSAP has been adding call takers steadily through the years but recently they decided it was time to take the next step.

To prevent a natural disaster or homeland security emergency from wiping out the 9-1-1 center, Philip Penny, Communications Director decided to use Positron's Power 911 and Power MAP to take his backup PSAP from being a bare bones communications center to a fully equipped and fully redundant 21-position answering point.

"Positron was the obvious choice," Mr. Penny said. "Positron's products have definitely proven themselves." Another advantage is that the call takers can train on the same equipment that they will be using on a daily basis. "This is also a definite benefit."

"Having Positron on out team is definitely an asset to going Phase II in our backup PSAP," said Mr. Penny. "And support is fantastic. We have received excellent service."
