Positron gives Wayne County
Emergency Communications Center,
The Power to Respond™
Atlanta, Georgia, August 18, 2004

Wayne County, North Carolina was founded in 1779 and named after George Washington's most trusted soldier. General Anthony Wayne was nicknamed "Mad Anthony Wayne" for his courage and valor in battle. Today, Wayne County is known for its rolling uplands and bubbling creeks that flow through warm summers and moderate winters

In 2002, Delbert Edwards, director of the Wayne County 911 Communications Center was about to consolidate his agency with four others. He was searching for a company to provide a complete suite of 9-1-1 emergency response applications, including call handling, CAD and radio, to the new agency. He selected Positron.

Wayne County Emergency Communications Center Mr. Edwards had worked with Positron before and knew that was the only way to go. "Positron is incredibly user friendly," he said. "I have been very impressed with the speed at which my telecommunicators were able to learn to use Positron's equipment." He went on to say that "with Positron, we were able to get up and running and answering the 1,000 daily calls the center receives right away."

Today, the Wayne County 911 Communications Center dispatches 52 agencies in support of a population of 110,000 over 520 square miles. General Wayne would be proud.

Positron is proud to welcome the Wayne County 911 Communications Center to the family.
