Positron gives Morgan County 9-1-1 Communications

Morgan County, Missouri, was named for Revolutionary War General Daniel Morgan and organized in 1833. Located in the heartland of the State, Morgan County is an area that stands in contrast to the fertile prairie farms of the north and the forested Ozark hills of the south. Found towards the southern border is the renowned "Lake of the Ozarks," the premier outdoor vacation area of the central Midwest.

In the spring of 2001, Rick Bias, Director of the Morgan County 9-1-1 Communications center, knew his agency was falling behind. His PSAP had had 9-1-1 call-taking services for ten years, without CAD or mapping capabilities. He knew that Phase I and Phase II were on the horizon and that he was facing an explosion of wireless calls. He realized that his existing system would not be able to meet his needs.

Mr. Bias conducted an exhaustive search for a vendor that could furnish an integrated, end-to-end system including Phase II-capable E9-1-1, mapping, CAD and RMS. He contacted 25 vendors and mandated that all his dispatchers be present for demonstrations. In the end, the dispatchers selected Positron's solution for its ease of use and painless learning curve. And because Positron was offering a complete solution at an "unbeatable price," the choice was easy to make.

According to Mr. Bias, "This is the smoothest transition I've ever gone through. The installation was just excellent." He went on to say that "Positron's reputation for having the best track record on installation and maintenance is well deserved."
