St Clair County Illinois has recently chosen Positron as its solution provider for a complete state of the art computer aided dispatch solution.

The delivery of this system, along with all accompanying professional services shall represent a milestone for the St. Clair County Emergency Telephone Board and CENCOM, one of the St. Clair County’s 9 PSAPs, as in the past all dispatch activity was handled manually. The system implementation is set to begin in the 1ts quarter of 2007.

The center fields a total of 324,879 calls per year of which 123,019 are 9-1-1 calls. Of the 123,019 9-1-1 calls 86% are from wireless phones. The daily average of all calls is 890 calls per day. The daily average for 9-1-1 calls is 337. The center acts as the overflow point for all of the other eight county PSAPs, and serves as the answering point for all wireless calls in the County.

The CENCOM PSAP dispatches for a total of 46 distinct agencies including Police, Fire, and EMS.
