Positron gives Hamilton County, Tennessee, Emergency Medical Services, The Power to Respond™
Atlanta, GA, December 20, 2006
Hamilton County Tennessee, Emergency Medical Services has recently upgraded its ambulance fleet with an innovative automatic vehicle location solution from Positron. Hamilton Emergency Medical services comprises 9 dispatch positions, and answers over 25,000 emergency calls per year.
The solution allows for the delivery of AVL information from the field without any type of MDT installed within the actual ambulance. The solution is ideal for small to medium emergency centers with limited budgets, who wish to take full advantage of Positron’s Power AVL.
This solution provided for cost savings for Hamilton County Tennessee, Emergency Medical Services, and allowed them to immediately deploy Positron’s Power AVL solution, even through they have not yet received budgetary approval for a full-fledged in-car mobile solution.
The only in-car equipment needed is simply a GPS receiver and a radio modem. Real-time GPS data from each ambulance is transmitted to the Hamilton County 911 center, where it is processed by Positron backroom equipment, and seamlessly displayed on Positron’s Power MAP.
According to Jeff Carney, Hamilton County Emergency Services, “Positron delivered an innovative low cost solution that allowed our ambulance dispatch operations to take full advantage of real time vehicle location data without the obligation to deploy mobile computers to each ambulance. The solution strengths our dispatch operations and through Positron’s integrated approach allows ambulance location data to be factored into the real time dispatch decision. This serves to save lives. We are very pleased with Positron’s technical scope, and strong sense of service. “
Positron is proud to have Hamilton County as part of the family.
