VIPER CAD is Positron’s newest and most advanced Computer Aided Dispatch system, providing comprehensive resource and response management functionality for dispatch centers. VIPER CAD is flexible and operates in any environment: multijurisdictional or multi-agency systems; medium or large scale; regional or multi-PSAP environments. It offers unprecedented configurability and ease of use via its state-of-the-art Graphical User Interface (GUI), allowing for customizable access to a comprehensive set of CAD features. Positron offers full workflow integration for the full life cycle of the emergency event, from call taking, to dispatching, mapping, AVL, records management, and mobile communications.
VIPER CAD is tailored to your user interface such that it meets the strengths of all of your individual users, including configurable command lines, easy to use drag and drop activity, and map-centric layout for dispatching operations. It can automatically recommend the appropriate resources based on user-defined criteria such as responder skills, availability, as well as territorial responsibility and proximity.

CAD workstations are configured to continue dispatch operations in the event of a database, server, or network connection failure (disconnect mode);

Your agency, your way! The makeup of the VIPER CAD graphical user interface (GUI) is fully configurable. System settings determine which modules are available and where, by default, they are positioned within the GUI:
- Map-driven, table-driven and/or command line control;
- Free-floating modules can be dragged/ dropped anywhere on the desktop;
- Multiple command lines that can each be general entry or associated with individual responses / resources;
- Customized GUIs are stored for login.

VIPER CAD provides an integrated map viewer that provides a true intuitive interface. With the map view, users have the ability to perform various functions such as:
- Open multiple map views to track various response areas simultaneously;
- Create responses from the map;
- Drag and drop elements among modules: MAP, Grids, and Mosaics to link responses and dispatch resources.
