PSAP Lightning Protection
Every year 9-1-1 PSAP's (Public Safety Answering Points) are damaged by lightning. A lightning strike can expose a PSAP to thousands of volts in just seconds. This voltage can create surges throughout the communications cabling, destroying equipment, and endangering lives.
If your communication equipment is not properly protected emergency service can be cut off. Conventional protection devices (gas tubes, solid state, etc.), are simply inadequate where communications and uninterrupted functionality are critical.
Positron's Teleline Isolator provides 65,000 volts of isolation. It has been used to protect wireline communications for over 25 years and has proven to be the most reliable form of protection available. The Teleline Isolator is currently used in thousands of substations and similar high voltage environments across North America and around the world.
